the range
Producing great cider takes patience and time. Our range of small-batch ciders are fermenting and maturing slowly to ensure that they are at their peak when the time comes for you to enjoy. Follow us on Instagram and check back regularly to see what we’ve got in store for you.
about meggy’s cyder
We are primarily driven by the desire to see real cider, that is cider made from 100% whole juice, served at our local pubs, restaurants and retail outlets in Usk, Monmouthshire. Second to that we want to share our creations with the rest of the UK and further afield.
Our aim is to create a range of real ciders that encourage consumers to move away from the mass-marketed nonsense masquerading as cider and increase growth and awareness of cider as a local artisan product. Our range will include Traditional Method (sometimes known as Champagne Method or Methode Champenoise), bottle-conditioned and Rural Method 750ml sharing bottles; as well as modern and farmhouse style blends in traditional 500ml bottles.
We have secured access to three incredible orchards based in three historically prominent cider-making counties - Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Somerset. Whilst many of our ciders will be a blend of the three orchards we intend to highlight the difference that terroir and location make to the qualities of the apples - using single varieties such as our favourite - Dabinett.
Our ciders are maturing nicely and are currently not available for you to enjoy but please look out for some of our favourites in the meantime - Ross-on-Wye Cider, Monnow Valley, Palmers Upland, Wilding, Artistraw, Oliver’s, Little Pomona and Apple County to name but a few.
